Blue Mountains in Australia

Submitted by Andrew Saul on the 2015 summer session internship program in Sydney, Australia sponsored by the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics

This summer, I am lucky enough to be completing an internship abroad in Sydney, Australia. I am one of two people from UD in this program. We arrived in Sydney on Friday, June 5th. We spent the weekend adjusting to the time change, exploring the city, and meeting people from other American schools who are doing internships abroad as well. I am working for Otis Elevators, a division of United Technologies. There are about eight other interns (from Ohio State and University of Michigan), which was good because they helped me get settled in.

This past weekend, we took a trip to the Blue Mountains. The view was fantastic! It was like an Australian Grand Canyon with trees. First, we got lunch in a quaint small town which was really nice. Then, we got a chance to really see the view of the Three Sisters and the surrounding landscape.

After that, we got a crash course in Aboriginal culture from a native Aboriginal person from the area and got our faces painted with Aboriginal warrior paint. We went on a hike and then we took the steepest railway in the world back to the top. Next weekend, we are off to Port Stephens! Warrior Paint Andew Saul 15J Sydney BUAD internship sm
