An hour commute to strange street art, a dismantled Olympic stadium, disheartening smells and house boats and we’re in Hackney Wick. “While in London, record 30 seconds of a speech, conversation, lecture, etc. and write a 20 word transcript” our brief from London Book Arts. Out in the ghost town of Hackney, we spent the past three days learning about the grain of paper, bookmaking and letterpress. Since I am mostly digital, the time and considerations involved with letterpress make me appreciate the process and end result.
