UD Memberships

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (A۰P۰L۰U) is a research and advocacy organization of public research universities, land-grant institutions, and state university systems with member campuses in all 50 states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. The association is governed by a Chair and a Board of Directors elected from the member universities and university systems. President Peter McPherson directs a staff of about 45 at the national office in Washington, D.C.

The mission of the Science Coalition is to expand and strengthen the federal government’s investment in university-based scientific, medical, engineering and agricultural research. Sustained support for research across the entire range of scientific disciplines is the most important step the nation can take to maintain America’s position at the forefront of scientific discovery, technological innovation, and economic growth in the 21st century.

Library of Congress

THOMAS was launched in January of 1995, at the inception of the 104th Congress. The leadership of the 104th Congress directed the Library of Congress to make federal legislative information freely available to the public. Since that time THOMAS has expanded the scope of its offerings to include the features and content listed below.
