The Community Engagement Initiative awards grants of up to $300 to support the cost of supplies and expenses for students engaged in academic community based service and research experiences. Applications are submitted and awards announced on a rolling decision basis after review. Funds may be journal-vouchered to the faculty sponsor department or reimbursed after submission of receipts.
Students engaged in academic community based research and service may apply for funding for expenses associated with their projects. Funded expenses may include travel to-and-from service site, equipment, and supplies. Funds are reimbursed after submission of receipts. Receipts must be itemized; they must list the item purchased in order to be reimbursable. Note: Travel from home to UD and UD parking permits are not considered fundable expenses.
Fill out the following application form to apply for a supplies and expenses grant. In addition to submitting the completed budget, you will need to attached a one-page description of your project and its context within your academic studies. Your application must also be accompanied by a letter of support from your faculty sponsor, which can be submitted here.
