CAP Cohort Undergraduate Program
Students in the English Language Institute’s Conditional Admissions Program all attend an overnight retreat at an adventure camp to make friendships and learn about American-style teamwork. CAP Cohort Graduate Program
The University of Delaware’s English Language Institute has a special Conditional Admissions Program (CAP) for graduate students called Graduate CAP Cohort. In the U.S. “grad school” and “graduate students” refer to students who have completed four years of undergraduate school and are now earning a higher degree: a Master’s or Doctorate. The Bridge Program
The English Language Institute (ELI) at the University of Delaware offers a program that allows students to start taking university classes for credit while they are still at ELI in the Bridge Program. The University of Delaware’s English Language Institute runs a 4-week program for lawyers and law professionals called the American Law and Legal English Institute (ALLEI). ELI offers these 5 housing options. Watch each video to see what it is like!

Homestay
The homestay housing option is available to all ELI students. Homestays are located within a 30-min driving distance to the ELI. Undergraduate students enrolled in the Conditional Admissions Program (CAP) must live in a homestay, Rittenhouse, or The Retreat. Graduate students enrolled in the CAP program must live either in a homestay, The Retreat or at the INNternationale.

The INNternationale
The INNternationale is one of ELI’s housing options for graduate-level CAP students and other students who are NOT enrolled in the CAP program. It is is located at 153 Courtney Street, Newark, Delaware 19716. For more information, visit: https://sites.udel.edu/eli/housing/innternationale/

Rittenhouse Living Learning Global Community
This is a housing option that for ELI students enrolled in the Conditional Admissions Program (CAP). Undergraduate students enrolled in the CAP program must live in a homestay, Rittenhouse or The Retreat. Rittenhouse Station apartments are located at 250 South Main St, Newark, DE 19711. The Retreat Luxury Apartments
The Retreat is a luxury apartment complex available to ELI and UD students. Undergraduate and graduate students in the Conditional Admissions Program (CAP) may also choose this housing option. Orientation and Safety:

Morris Library
This video describes what is available for ELI students to use in the library. Besides buying food and drink in the cafe next to the library, in the library students can use the computers, find books and articles, and check out books, DVDs, headphones, hard drives, voice recorders, and video cameras. The basement of the library also has printers and scanners. There is always someone at the Information Desk on the 1st floor to answer questions. ELI students are very welcome in the library!

Topics cover staying safe at home, keeping valuables hidden, knowing where you’re going to avoid getting lost, using the blue light phones if you’re lost, being safe at night, and alcohol policies and consequences in Delaware and at the UD.

Public Safety – What Police Do
This video gives an overview of what the University of Delaware Police in the Public Safety office do, and includes what kind of information they will ask if they see a student doing something that looks suspicious or illegal.
