Additional fees

Some additional fees may apply, including:

  • Application fee: $100 (required)
    • All students are required to pay an application fee for all University of Delaware ELI programs.
    • Permanent Residents and Citizens who qualify for Delaware Resident pricing can pay a reduced application fee of $60.
  • Express Mail fee: $35 (required)
    • This fee pays for the express mailing of documents to students, such as I-20 forms, Welcome Packages, etc.
    • Documents will automatically be sent via express mail (DHL or FedEx) unless the student specifically requests that the University of Delaware ELI use the US Postal Service or if a friend will pick up the documents on the student’s behalf.
    • Students must pay this fee at the time that they submit their application to register for ELI programs.
  • Airport Transfer fee: $50 – $90
    • These fees must be paid if the ELI arranges transportation for the student from the Philadelphia International Airport to Newark, Delaware.
    • Delaware Express (standard shuttle pick-up): Normally, the charge is $50; however, late-night pick-ups may cost $90. For questions, please contact eli-housing@udel.edu.
    • Homestay: If the homestay family (or the homestay driver service) will pick up the student from Philadelphia International Airport, the fee is $75. If the homestay family (or homestay driver service) will drop off the student at the Philadelphia International Airport, the fee will be $60.
  • Late Orientation/Arrival fee: $100
    • Students must pay this fee only if they miss one of the designated Orientation days. All students are required to attend all days of ELI Orientation, as marked on their acceptance letter and in the documents that the student will receive when they arrive for Orientation.
  • Late Housing fee: $100
    • Students must pay this fee only if they do not meet the ELI’s deadlines for arranging housing (as listed in their acceptance documents).
  • Late Payment fee: $50
    • Students must pay this fee if they do not pay the entire amount listed on their bill before the date written on the bill.

Price for 2 sessions with discount (4 months)

What is the two-session discount?

Applicants who enroll in two sessions (approximately 4 months) AND prepay the tuition and fees for both sessions will receive a tuition discount.

For the academic year 2013-2014, the discount is $360 (the tuition price is $5,670 for two sessions). For the academic year 2014-2015, the discount is $360 (the tuition price is $5,820 for two sessions).

The following is an estimate of the price for 2 sessions (approximately 4 months) when the student takes advantage of the two-session discount. Prices are in US dollars and are subject to change without notice.

The following pricing applies only to Pre-MBA students who are enrolled in the Intensive English Program. What is the two-session discount?

Applicants who enroll in two sessions (approximately 4 months) AND prepay the tuition and fees for both sessions will receive a tuition discount.

For the academic year 2013-2014, the discount is $360 (the tuition price is $5,670 for two sessions).

Application fees

Most ELI programs have an application fee of US $100. Application fees are listed directly on the application form.

 

Airport pick-up fees

  • For students who live in ELI dormitories or apartments: Approximately US $50.
  • For students who live with a homestay family: US $75.

 

Express mail fee

Students must pay a fee of US $35  for all documents sent by express mail.

 

Late Orientation fee

Students who do not attend ELI orientation are charged a US $100 fee.

 

Late Housing/Arrival fee

Students are charged a US $100 fee when:

  • They do not submit their housing application and/or arrival form prior to the deadline (normally the deadline is exactly 2 weeks before the session begins)
  • They do not submit their housing intention forms (housing reservations) prior to the announced deadline (for current students)
