January 2012 Meeting

This month we’ll be meeting on January 18th at the UD UnConference – being held from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Perkins Student Center – Rodney Rm 364.

See you there!

No December Meeting

No meeting in December. The recent 508 compliance meeting should suffice to keep us ahead on our WebDev educational pursuits.

The 3rd Wednesday in December is falling way too close to Christmas to make it worthwhile to hold a meeting in my humble opinion. Far too many of us are out on vacation and/or attempting to resuscitate the economy.

Merry Christmas to all and a Joyous New Year!

Many thanks to Chris Leonard for leading the discussion on mobile platform development.

November 2011 Meeting

We’ll meet in 015 Smith Hall at 10:00am on Wednesday, Nov 16.

The topic of this month’s WebDev meeting will be formatting your sites for mobile devices.  Chris Leonard will share a little about responsive page design through CSS and formatting for mobile devices to get the conversation going.

I’m hoping we’ll be able to discuss viable routes forward for targeting mobile platforms such as iPads, tablets, phones, etc. in addition to targeting the desktop browsers.

See you all then.

October 2011 Meeting

The October Web Dev meeting will be held on October 19th in Smith 015 at 10:00am.

Greg Aluise has agreed to discuss the technology and development behind the BlueHenergy site he’s been working on. Greg will be covering:

Building BlueHenergy:

  • Combining .NET WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) based web services with HTML5 like User Interface.
  • Consuming a .NET WCF JSONP Web Service with ECMAScript (JavaScript) tools like JQuery.
  • Building a cross-browser ECMAScript Animated Gauge widget

See you there!

September 2011 Meeting

Google+ has finally opened up for everybody – http://plus.google.com

This month we’ll be attempting to create a Google+ Hangout for holding a virtual meeting. Benefits are no travel time to/from the meeting (~4 hrs of my time saved ;?) and the possibility for more flexible and spontaneous meetings without conference room availability constraints.

Instructions have been sent out via the group listserve. Hope to see you online at 10:00am on Sept 21, 2011 or you can come hang out in person at Smith Lab Rm 105 (that’s in Lewes).

August 2011 Meeting

A Dell Lunch-n-Learn is happening at the same time as this months meeting, so we’ll be going to that in lieu of our regularly scheduled meeting.

See you all there!

We have lots of webdev training action happening locally next week, so we’re going to skip the July 20 DeWD meeting.

There will be a group gathering to watch the “3rd Annual CSS Summit” in 011 Smith on July 26 & 27. More info is available on the UD Training calender.

Drupaldelphia is also happening next week – July 29.

June 15 WebDev Meeting

We’re back on track for a regularly scheduled WebDev meeting.

We will be meeting in Robinson Hall Rm 105 on June 15th at 10:00am.

Tina Callahan will be a special speaker, discussing Drupalcon.

See you there!

My sincerest apologies – just got back from my second whirlwind trip to Florida for the NASATweetup for the space shuttle Endeavour (STS-134) launch and noticed that today is the 3rd Wednesday of the month!

I’ll get back to everybody real soon as to the schedule track going forward.

If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, feel free to scope out the adventures as chronicled on the Ocean Bytes blog:
