David Pong is a professor of East Asian History at the University of Delaware. Prof. Pong specializes in Late Imperial China, 1840s-1912, with a special interest in issues of tradition, reform, and modernization; public finance, and provincial politics; defence industries, transfer of technology, the modern navy, as well as labor relations.
