Facility terms: Carvel or Carvel REC indicates the newer facility completed in 2006. That address is 16483 County Seat Highway, Georgetown, 19947.
Our former location, known as the REC and now referred to as the REC Annex is still used for auxilliary meetings. Its address is 16684 County Seat Highway, Georgetown, 19947, and public meetings held at this location can be accessed by driving around back of the building, where there is ample parking. DPI, Inc. now occupies the front spaces of the REC Annex.
Video Conference Center is adjacent- west on the same property as the REC Annex. Its use is limited to small meetings, such as 4-H clubs.
Master Gardener Demonstration Garden is located behind the Carvel REC facility, and on the eastern side, near a cluster of agricultural buildings. Normally in the summer, there is a blue and gold tent erected for advertised outside Master Gardener workshops.
Whether serving from our original location or our new facility, 2011 marked 70 years of committed service to Sussex County agriculture, families and individuals. Read more from Carvel 70 Years excerpt.
