What is it?

Central IT is migrating on-premises exchange to exchange online or office365.  CANR users in Newark will be migrated on Tuesday 3/13 and Dover/Georgetown users will be migrated on Tuesday 3/20.

Why

Basically because of new security requirements as a result of an incoming Delaware law.

What do I need to do to prepare?

As this requires Microsoft MFA, please sign up for it using the instructions at.

https://www1.udel.edu/it/help/microsoft/mfa/index.html. You may also want to download microsoft outlook to your mobile device to prepare for the move.

What to expect on move day?

On the morning you come in, your outlook application on your computer should have been redirected automatically to exchange online (office365).  If not you can get your mail at outlook.com/udel.edu.

Your cell phone will not get repointed automatically.  Please try to follow the directions at http://www1.udel.edu/it/help/microsoft/exchange/mobileonline.html

If you have any issues with the above 2 fill out a ticket by following https://sites.udel.edu/canrit/help/.   Please try to do the above two steps on your own first, as everyone in the college is getting migrated on the same day.

FAQ’s

Why don’t we all just switch to google?  Technical security and compliance reasons, or Harvard did it, we try to do what they do. https://mso.harvard.edu/

What if I haven’t signed up for MFA by the migration date? Expect to be shamed by your IT support person.  You should still be able to sign up after the migration.

I don’t have a smart phone?  MFA can be set up to call your office phone.
