Dear 4-H Families and friends,

Tis the season of giving and many 4-Hers are taking part in community service activities. The tree is up in the county office for donations of hats, mittens, gloves and scarves. These are donated to the Adopt-a-Family Store where approved families can select the items they need. Thank you for serving others!

Congratulations to our National Congress Delegates! Matthew Johnston and Shannon Murray recently returned from Atlanta, Georgia for what was certain to have been a once in a lifetime experience. New Castle County volunteer, Marian Harvey, accompanied them as a chaperone.

Looking forward to 2018, we will start the year with the Public Speaking Contest on January 9, followed by the Favorite Foods Contest on Jan. 20. See the news blog for details and plan now to participate in these events.

4-H families can look forward to a full slate of fun and interesting Winter Workshops in February. Workshop details will be posted in the January blog. Registration will begin January 8.

With winter activities comes winter weather and the possibility of cancellations. If the Christina School District closes for the day, has early dismissal or cancels after-school activities, then NCC 4-H events are cancelled.  Weekend 4-H events will be cancelled if the University of Delaware closes or cancels events.  In addition, the 4-H office will be closed from 12-23-2017 thru 1-1-2018 for the holiday break.

Have a wonderful holiday season! We hope to see everyone at a 4-H event in the new year!

Yours in 4-H,

Betsy, Kaitlin and Serena
