About Blue Print

Blue Print is UD’s first official 3D Print Studio for students, faculty, and staff–regardless of department, major, or class affiliation–located in the basement of Smith Hall! With six top-of-the-line 3D printers, any dream can become a 3D printed reality.

The Blue Print 3D Studio was inspired by Jon Cox, Assistant Professor, Art and Design, and Dustyn Roberts, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, who were awarded a Transformation Grant in 2015.  They had the vision and commitment to provide 3D printing opportunities to the campus community.

To achieve this vision several units on campus have come together to provide project support: Information Technology Services, Academic Technology Services; The UD Library; and Information Technology Services, Client Support Services. Sovereign Air was also contracted to provide training and guidance as this project evolved.
