DIETETIC GRADUATE PROGRAM
Interns can continue on-campus at the University of Delaware following the completion of the internship and complete a Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition. This M.S. program enables students to pursue their interests through an individualized program of study with either a thesis or non-thesis option. Both options include a core of required credits in nutrition and research methods, after which students work with an advisor to develop a customized elective program that fulfills the remainder of the program credits.
Areas of potential program specialization include nutrition science, nutrition education, community nutrition, and management of food and nutrition services. A variety of courses within the department and across the university provide exceptional opportunities for tailoring the degree to the student’s interests.
Admission requirements include the following:
- Minimum undergraduate cumulative index of 2.75, and 3.00 in major field;
- A combined GRE score (Quantitative + Verbal) of 297
- 3 letters of reference
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 550 (paper based) or a TOEFL IBT of at least 79.
Students who are currently enrolled in the internship and who wish to continue at the University of Delaware for a Master’s degree will be considered upon receipt of their completed graduate application for the MS in Human Nutrition program. The application is separate from the graduate application completed for dietetic internship acceptance and can be completed online by visiting the home page for the Office of Graduate and Professional Education . There are a limited number of opportunities for on-campus paid graduate assistantships in the Master’s Program.
