Communication Workshops at Granada Meeting

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE YOUR SCIENCE BETTER TO THE PUBLIC?

At the Aquatic Sciences Meeting, there will be three special workshops designed for better communication of your science.  These are an outgrowth of an effort started several years ago by Jon Sharp with assistance from independent Hollywood filmmaker, Randy Olson. The three activities are listed separately under the boxes above – you can click on them for more information.  The three workshops are:

Connection – this is a small group activity where registered members will work with Hollywood actor and Improv instructor, Brian Palermo to develop your communication talents in a more effective manor.

Snap-it-up – this is a workshop open to all with demonstrations on how to present your research results to a broad interdisciplinary audience.

Panel discussion – this mid-day break  panel discussion will be led by a professional communicator and features three of your aquatic science colleagues.

Funding for all three workshops come from the Ocean Sciences Division of the US National Science Foundation.
